In Lady Lancaster fashion we collaborated with a few Native artists to make a show-stopping collection of turquoise jewelry. This is a handmade Native shell necklace. This piece was made in the Santo Domingo Pueblo in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Every single bead and stone has been handmade and hand sanded using the old traditional techniques of jewelry making. Absolutely no shortcuts were taken. Each piece is wearable art. Each shell has inlaid turquoise, coral and lapis with sterling silver. The are shells found off the Baja California coast. Each shell depicts significant motifs and symbols specific to the Santo Domingo Tribe. This is not like gold jewelry, each piece is a profound statement but must be handled with care.
