This is an American antique quilt completed in 1965 by Grace Meade. We know this because she took the time to sew a tag into the quilt upon completion.  We have saved this provenance and sewn it to the inside hem. It is a traditional Fan quilt pattern.  The piece has been hand quilted and hand sewn, which is a labor of love and a lost art. We love that Grace backed this quilt(inside of jacket) with a light purple fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off. In our opinion the quilt is thin, lightweight with medium loft (puffiness).  We love the unusual mix of primary colors against a gray ground fabric. We used a large iridescent triangle button as a closure. Please note: there are a few zig zag mends that are visible on the inside of the jacket. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out over dms and we will happily send you a video!

  • One Size Fits Most - Model is 5’4 and approximately 125lbs
  • 2 Generous front pockets
  • 1 Button closure
  • Blazer lapel Collar style
  • 1 Exaggerated vent in the center back

Measurements

53” top of the back of neck to the bottom of the hem

22” laying flat, armpit to armpit, buttoned jacket

26” shoulder seam to bottom of arm, uncuffed

24” center back vent

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
