This piece was made by a true patriot and a master maker! This is an antique American quilt made circa 1970's-1990's. This piece is noteworthy for its hand sewing, hand applique, hand quilting, and hand embroidery! This piece was a true labor of love and honor to their country. Most impressive is the United State's crest. The crest is repeated throughout the piece and contains a significant amount of small details! The maker took the time to tea stain the flag on the back left shoulder to give the illusion of an aged fabric. The large floral stars are filled with extra batting give them a more pronounced definition. For a closure we used a brass anchor military button. In our opinion this piece is soft, thin, and light weight with a little batting(puffiness). Please note: on the shoulder and front above the blue pocket are a few small age spots that we could not lift during the washing process. Please see photos at the end of the listing. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
