This is an antique American quilt made in 1975 by Joyce Sunderland in honor of the Bicentennial, a celebration of the United States' 200th birthday! Joyce was a master maker and gave us the gift of signing her name on the quilt! We saved this provenance and tucked in on the inside of the jacket. It has been beautifully hand appliqued and hand quilted. The maker added hand quilted icons throughout, such as Betsy Ross and the liberty bell. This piece is sure to stop traffic! For a closure we have added a carved mother of pearl button! In our opinion this piece is is soft, thin, and light weight!  If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via dms.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
