This is an antique American quilt we believe to be completed around the 1930's, however, it contains many fabrics from much earlier. It is a traditional Lone Star quilt fabric. The star is a major turn of the century fabric show-off! There are rare and valuable indigos, beautiful turkey reds, home spun ginghams, and a few men's shirt scraps. The floral backing fabric(inside of jacket) is absolutely stunning. We paired this quilt with vintage Levi Denim Sleeves. In our opinion this piece is thin, light weight, and has a very flattering drape. We used a square carved ivory button as the closure.
Occasionally we design jackets were we allow the client to get involved in the design process, this is one of those instances. Currently as the jacket is photographed it does not have pockets. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
