This is an American, antique quilt made circa 1930s-1950s. This piece is an absolute drop dead museum quality quilt! This is an appliqué quilt. It is extraordinary not only for its masterful hand stitched quilting but also for its tiny hand appliqué stitches. In our words this quilt is a 10/10. Stars and horseshoes have been used a lot throughout history in art and design and to find a quilt so masterfully executed with both these images is a stroke of good fortune. We were more than excited to bring new life to this stunning one of a kind antique American quilt. In our opinion this quilt is soft, thin, lightweight, with little to no loft. It is in excellent condition. We found a small spot on the back of the quilt, which we have included a photo of at the end of the listing. We added antique French wooden buttons as closures down the front. The inside of the jacket (back of the quilt) has a small yellow age mark that we were unable to remove when we washed this quilt, however, it does not show through to the outside of the jacket. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
