This is a Lancaster County Mennonite quilt made by an absolute master! This piece was constructed circa 1890s to 1920. It is a traditional Tumbling Block quilt pattern. It is a heritage piece and a window into the turn of the century. The quilt was beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn. It is spectacular for its tiny pieces and crisp points. In our opinion, the jacket is very thin and very lightweight. This is what we consider a summer weight quilt, meaning it was made for aesthetics, not warmth. It is very comfortable to wear. The maker backed this piece with a beautiful blue backing fabric, inside of jacket. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! For closures, we used faux leather buttons. Please note, there is a very subtle color bleed into the cheddar, which we have captured in the photographs. This is a size LARGE, please read size measurements below. This piece fits a range of sizes depending on how you like to style your jackets. If you have any questions please direct message us and we are happy to bore you with many more details.

Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
