This is an antique American quilt made circa 1890s to 1920. It is a traditional Ocean Waves quilt pattern. This piece is exquisite for its tiny pieces, crisp points, meticulous hand quilting, and hand sewing. The quilt was made by an absolute master. The quilt is overflowing with rare and valuable indigos. What is even more impressive is the backing fabric(inside of jacket). The maker used a blue and white homespun gingham, a very rare piece of textile history. It is museum-worthy. For closures, we used plastic bronze geometric buttons. In our opinion, the quilt is thin, soft, lightweight, and has a great drape. It will go with everything in your closet. Please note there are small zig zag mends throughout and we have tried to capture this in the photographs. It is in excellent condition for its age. Even though there are mends, it is an absolute Lady Lancaster 10/10. This is a size LARGE, please read size measurements below.
