This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890s to 1920s by or for Mildred. The maker hand stitched this name into the quilt. We have preserved and placed the name on the inside of the jacket. It is a traditional Log Cabin quilt pattern. The quilt has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn which is a labor of love and a lost art. It is a highly collectible quilt from this era! The quilt is overflowing with, rare and valuable indigos, crisp and vibrant cheddar, and many pristine black fabrics. It is rare that the indigos and blacks have survived the test of time. The quilt did not come from a humble home. The maker backed this quilt with a contrasting red grid fabric, you will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! We used black and gold glass rosette antique buttons as closures. In our opinion, the jacket is very thin, very lightweight with very little loft(puffiness), soft, and very comfortable to wear. It has a great drape. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. This is a size LARGE, please read size measurements below. This piece fits a range of sizes depending on how you like to style your jackets.
