This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890s to 1910s. It is a traditional Crazy quilt pattern. When we started constructing this jacket we discovered that the batting used for this quilt is another antique quilt. This is a rare and special time capsule piece. The backing fabric is a complete contrast to the front of the jacket. It is a beautiful pastel floral fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off. There is no quilting at all on this quilt, but it contains beautiful hand sewing, hand applique and hand knotting. We work very hard to source rare palettes for our clients and this earth tone palette is extremely hard to find. In our opinion, the quilt is very lightweight and very soft with medium loft (puffiness). We used vintage cameo gray and gold buttons as closures. PLEASE NOTE: This is an oversized version of our Market Jacket. Lady Lancaster loves an oversized look, however, if you would like this to be more fitted it best fits a size 8-14. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
