This is an American, antique quilt made 1930s-40s. This is the traditional fan quilt pattern. This piece was made by a master. It is meticulously hand quilted. The technique used to attach the fan is a mix of hand sewing and hand appliqué. We have added antique hand painted wooden sphere buttons as closures down the front. We consider this to be extremely light weight and very thin. Technically speaking, it is a summer weight quilt. Summer weight quilts were made for aesthetics and not for warmth and this jacket is no exception. In some photos we have shown this jacket styled with one of our quilt collars. This is something we love to do to mix and match and add interest to our jackets and we have tried to show you this in some of the images.
