This is a traditional Indian Kantha quilt. This piece has been hand quilted and hand block printed. The Indian Kantha quilt stitches are completely different than American quilt stitches, it is often referred to as a straight or running stitch. These Kantha quilts are hand quilted using embroidery thread as opposed to regular sewing thread. In our opinion this quilt is very thin and very lightweight. If you live in a warmer climate this is a perfect Helen jacket for you. This jacket is completely reversible. This quilt is extremely flattering to wear with a beautiful, beautiful drape. The sleeves on this jacket are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Kantha Quilt stitches are much more likely to break or snag, because they are not as tightly quilted as American Quilts. - The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
