This is an American antique quilt made circa 1960s-1970s. This was made with a Paragon quilt kit that was featured on the cover of Good Housekeeping in the 60s. It was made to celebrate Americana. As a result, it became wildly popular. We are obsessed with the Folk Art Motifs. The detail in this applique is stunning, the tiny stars on the eagle's shield to the tiny eagle claws. This piece is combination of beautiful hand quilting, hand appliqué, and machine work. The quilt was made by a master. PLEASE NOTE: the sleeves are 2” longer than our Standard Helen Pattern. In our opinion, the jacket is super soft, thin, and lightweight, and has a little loft(puffiness). Please note: there is some mild pilling on the inside of the jacket. There is a faint bluish stain that we could not remove during the washing process. It is approx. 2 x 2 near the front side of the jacket. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
