If you're looking for a piece of American heritage that you can wear over and over again, this is a great option. It is an American antique quilt top made circa 1890s to 1920. It is a traditional Double 9 Patch or Single Irish Chain Quilt Pattern. The quilt top was beautifully hand sewn. The top was featured in the Illinois Quilt Project exhibit from 1987-1995 at the Illinois State Museum. We saved this commemorative patch and placed on the inside of the jacket. To complete the quilt we backed the top with two different turn-of-the-century reproduction fabrics. This adds extra character and depth to the overall design. The quilt top contains very rare and valuable fabrics from its era. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, super soft, light weight with very little loft, and has a great drape. This piece is very flattering. Please note, the sleeves are 4” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Since the top was backed with new fabric this jacket does not need to be handled with kid gloves. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Measurements
36” back of the neck to the bottom of the hem
36” laying flat, armpit to armpit
Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
