This quilt jacket is made with an antique American quilt top made circa 1910 to 1930s. It is traditional Sunshine and Shadows Log Cabin quilt pattern. The quilt has been beautifully hand pieced. It is exceptional for its tiny bars and crisp points. This piece is technically only a quilt top. We did not back the top intentionally to keep this piece lightweight and super drapey! This is a great piece for you in you live in a hot climate or run warm! This piece is overflowing with rare and valuable indigos from the turn of the century. We would consider this to be a scrappy quilt. This quilt was made on the foundation, women constructed quilts this way so they could easily do a square while in transit. Please note: The sleeves are 4-5” longer than our standard Helen pattern. If you feel your limbs are smaller, we will provide complimentary hemming to the sleeves. This piece feels larger than our standard Helen because of the thinner and lighter nature. This piece has no loft, it is extremely flattering. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
