This is Ralph Lauren in a quilt coat. We consider this to be a super Americana heritage. It is an American antique quilt made circa 1900s to 1920s. It is a traditional Log Cabin Quilt Pattern. This piece has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn, which is a labor of love and a lost art. It is spectacular for is homespun gingham backing fabric, inside of jacket. The maker used scraps from their sewing box, including men’s shirt scraps, and women’s dress fabrics. The quilt displays quintessential turn-of-the-century fabrics. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, lightweight, is very floppy, and has an excellent drape. This piece is very flattering. Please note, the sleeves are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. It is in excellent condition. There is a minor zigzag mend or two that blend seamlessly into the quilt. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
