This is an American Antique quilt made circa 1890s to 1920s. It is a beautiful Lancaster County Mennonite quilt. The photos don't do this piece justice. It is a traditional Postage Stamp Quilt Pattern. This piece has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn. The maker backed this quilt with a beautiful black and white calico fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! In our opinion, the jacket is very thin, very soft, very lightweight with no loft, and has a very good drape. The sleeves are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Please note, there are some very small and faint age spots throughout many of the white squares. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
