This is an antique American quilt made circa 1950s to 1960s. It is a very rare and gorgeous Floral Appliqué quilt. This quilt was made from a kit and if you look closely you can see the blue quilting guidelines. This maker had a knack for hand skills. This piece is beautifully hand appliquéd, hand quilted, and hand embroidered. We love all the French knotting added to the flowers. The maker added a personal touch and left one of the flower petals un-appliqued. It makes the flower jump off the quilt and adds dimension. We've added an up-close photo of this detail. This piece is so much more impressive in person and the hand work jumps off the quilt. The quilt was executed by an absolute master. In our opinion, the jacket is lightweight, super soft, thin, has light to medium loft (puffiness), and has a nice drape. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10 for its hand work. For those that like to cuff the sleeves, we lined the sleeves with coordinating fabric. This adds an extra pop and makes the sleeves extra durable. Please note there is a small age spot smaller than a dime on the inside of the jacket which we have photo graphed for your convenience. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
