This is an antique American quilt top made circa 1900s to 1930s. It is a traditional Crazy or Scrappy quilt. Lady Lancaster found this orphaned quilt top in Brimfield, MA. To complete the quilt the top was backed with a soft reproduction brown floral fabric. The quilt top is loaded with hand embroidered turkey track stitches, rare and valuable indigo fabrics, gingham fabrics, and men's shirt scraps from the turn of the century. In our opinion, the jacket is thin soft, lightweight and has a very flattering drape. If you are smaller or petite this jacket is not for you as its sleeves are 5” longer sleeves than our standard Helen pattern. On the other hand if you are taller and our standard Helen is typically too short in the sleeves, this is an excellent choice! This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
