This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890s to 1910s. It is a traditional Old Tippecanoe or Broken Dishes quilt pattern. The quilt has been beautifully hand sewn and was not hand quilted, but rather hand knotted. The tiny ties add charm and texture to the overall esthetic. The quilt is loaded with rare and highly collectible turn of the century fabrics. For example homespun ginghams, men's shirt scraps, and antique indigos. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, lightweight, and has a perfect drape. There is a little loft (puffiness). The piece is very flattering and comfortable to wear. Please note, there are some subtle age marks on the inside of the jacket which we have tried to photograph and included in the listing. There are also a handful of zig zag mends and patches, they blend into the outside of the jacket. The sleeves are 2 3/4” longer than our standard Helen pattern. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
