This is an antique American quilt made circa 1930s to 1960s. It is a traditional Wreath with Cherry Blossoms applique quilt pattern. It was made by a master! The quilt is beautifully hand quilted and hand appliquéd. In between some of the wreaths are quilted butterflies. This quilt is extremely thin, extremely soft, and very lightweight. This is what we consider a summer weight quilt. Meaning that the quilt was not made for warmth, but rather for aesthetics. The jacket has an excellent drape. Please note, there are a few small tanning marks throughout that we have tried to photograph but they are very subtle. PLEASE NOTE : the sleeves are 3 1/2” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
