This is an American Antique quilt. This quilt pattern has been called many names throughout the years such as Shadows, Rainbow Block, Roman Stripes and Shadow quilt. This quilt was most likely made by Amish or Mennonite, however, for tourists and not their own personal use. This piece has been beautifully hand quilted. We love that the maker backed this piece in a contrasting fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! In our opinion, the quilt is very thin, light weight, and dreamy to wear. Please note, the batting is most likely poly, which makes this jacket very light and airy!! If you have longer arms or like to cuff your sleeves, this is a great option for you! Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
