This is an American antique quilt made circa 1930’s to 1940’s. It is a traditional Crazy quilt. The quilt is loaded with novelty fabrics from it's era. This piece is a darling gem from post World War II. In keeping with the Crazy quilt genre, it is a hand stitched show off. The maker spent hours and hours hand embroidering Turkey Tracks throughout this piece using rainbow embroidery thread. One of our favorite things about this quilt is the novelty backing fabric(inside of jacket) that can best be appreciated when the cuffs are rolled or the jacket is worn inside out. In our opinion the quilt is very thin, very lightweight, and has a very flattering drape. It has little to no loft (puffiness). This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
