This is an American antique quilt. We believe that it was made circa 1920's-1950's, however, it is hard to date quilts that are made with solid colored fabrics. This quilt is so special and an ode to Friendship. It's known as a Friendship quilt pattern. It is overflowing with hand embroidered names. Some of our favorites are Blanch Finch, Arthur Copper, and Baily Carter. This is the true definition of a labor of love. Pieces like this were made for weddings, church groups, or to commemorate major life milestones. The maker was an absolute master. The quilt is meticulously hand sewn, hand quilted, and the hand embroidery is beyond special. The maker chose very soft cotton. In our opinion the quilt is thin, lightweight with very little loft, and has a beautiful drape. Please note: the sleeves are 2" longer than the standard Helen pattern. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
