This jacket goes out to all our on theme dressers. If you do not already have a Christmas jacket in your collection this is a rare opportunity. This is a vintage American quilt made circa 1960’s to 1970’s. It is a Christmas Poinsettia quilt pattern. The quilt has been hand sewn and hand quilted. In addition to the hand quilting the Poinsettia is also hand embroidered in the French knot technique. In our opinion the quilt is very lightweight and very soft. It has medium loft (puffiness). This jacket drapes nicely and feels like you are wearing a giant cloud hug. It is important to note that some of the fabrics in this quilt may be a cotton/poly blend. We love how detailed this maker was, if you look at our photos closely you will see that she switched thread colors depending on what she was quilting over. To add interest to the negative spaces, they used a contrasting red thread. Please Note: the sleeves are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. This is perfect if you look to cuff your sleeves. Please note!! There is some slight pilling, this is very typical for poly blend batting batting and fabrics. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
