This is an American antique quilt made 1890’s to 1920. This is a traditional Triangle quilt pattern. This is a highly collectible piece and was made by an absolute master. The maker of this quilt signed it in calligraphy and we have presevered this provenance and sewn it to the inside of the lapel. The quilt is meticulously hand sewn with tiny, tiny stitches. It is also hand quilted with museum-worthy hand stitches. The quilt is exceptional for its crisp points and tiny pieces. In our opinion the quilt is thin, lightweight, and has a great drape. The quilt contains rare antique indigo fabrics which makes this an exceptional of wearable Folk Art! The maker backed this piece with a a cotton muslin fabric. If you like longer sleeves, this is a great option for you! They are 4” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Please note there is some slight color bleed, but it is so faint it is very hard to show this in our images. There is also a small ink stain on the inside of the jacket, it does not show through to the outside. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
