This is an antique American quilt made circa 1970s to 1980s. This American Eagle quilt was made from a quilt kit that was designed to celebrate America's Bicentennial in 1976. The piece is overflowing with hand embroidery and is beautifully hand quilting. The maker clearly loved hand crafts and was a master. The maker backed this quilt with a contrasting light blue fabric, you will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off. In our opinion, the quilt is very thin, very lightweight, and has a little loft(puffiness). The jacket is very floppy and has a flattering drape. Please note: the sleeves are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Overall, the quilt is in great condition for its age. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
