This is an American Antique quilt completed June 1940. We believe this to be the maker's 65th quilt. We have preserved the provenance of the quilt on the inside of the jacket. We have included a photo of this at the end of the listing. It is a rare Floral Applique quilt pattern. It has been beautifully hand quilted and hand appliquéd. It is very rare to find any quilt, let alone an applique quilt with a black ground fabric. We love how the flowers pop off the backing and we feel this gives it a pop art vibe. If you like to dress on theme like we do here at Lady Lancaster, this would be a perfect holiday heavy lifter. In our opinion the quilt is buttery soft, very comfortable to wear, it feels like you are wearing a cloud. It has a moderate drape. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
