This is an American quilt made circa 1930's - 1960's. It is a very rare Ruby McKim Quilt Pattern that is meant to depict a flower garden surrounded by a white picket fence. Ruby McKim was born in 1891 was was a prolific artist, business woman, author and overall luminary. She made a profound impact In the U.S. with her quilt and needlework designs. This specific quilt is the confluence of the art of quilting and the art of needlework as it contains both hand piecing on the picket fence, while the flowers are hand embroidered. In our opinion, this quilt is made with very soft cotton, it is medium weight and medium loft (puffiness). This quilt should be bought by someone who appreciates the origin and impact of Ruby McKim.
