This is an American antique quilt top made circa 1880's-1900's. It is a Sunflower or Blazing Sun quilt pattern. We completed the quilt by adding rare antique homespun gingham from our archives. As a result, This is NOT hand quilted. It contains so many different homespun ginghams throughout. It is very difficult to find quilts with neutral and earth tones like this piece. We are thrilled to add this quilt to our portfolio. The quilt is very thin and lightweight. The very nature of homespun ginghams make this quilt not quite as soft as other cottons. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
