This is an American Antique quilt made circa 1890's to 1920's. It is a traditional Pinwheel Chain quilt pattern. This piece is exceptional for its rare and valuable indigo fabrics, tiny pieces, dense hand quilting, and its meticulous hand sewing. This quilt exhibits a high skill and serious technical precision. It is very soft, light weight, thin and has a buttery drape. It is important to note that there is a lot of tanning and a few age marks throughout the quilt. It is subtle and impossible to pick up in our photos and the price reflects this. The integrity of the fabrics are in excellent condition but the tanning is present.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
