This is an antique American quilt made circa 1920s to 1940s. It is a traditional Dresden Plate quilt. This piece is extra special. It is loaded with hand embroidery and instead of quilting, the maker added hand tied knots all over. This adds interest and dimension to the piece. We intentionally highlighted the hand knotting and accented it on the cuffs because it adds a very cool texture. In our opinion, the jacket has medium loft(puffiness), and is a little heavier. However, it has an awesome drape and a great swing. It is an extremely flattering piece to wear. Please note, the sleeves are 1 1/2” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
