This is an extremely rare signature or friendship quilt top. We have never had this many signatures! This is a museum-quality piece. It is overflowing with hand embroidery. There are so many different fonts, and most likely worked on by many different women. We have preserved the original lace border and featured it on the cuff. For closure we chose very rare antique etched mother of pearl buttons in keeping with the original era of the quilt. Typically quilts of this magnitude are dated, and we believe the redwork top was made between 1880s and 1900s. To complete the quilt we backed the top with turn-of-the-century reproduction floral calico fabric. This jacket will look good with everything in your closet can be worn to be dressed up or dressed down. This is an absolute Lady Lancaster 10/10 in every single way. If you are an art collector or a lover of provenance, this piece is for you. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, lightweight, and has a beautiful drape. The pieces is in excellent condition and not fragile at all. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
