This is an antique hand woven Mexican Serape. To turn this textile into a quilt we backed and quilted it with a two-tone lavender star fabric. This cotton backing fabric makes the jacket soft when touching your skin. We've done something we’ve never seen done before. Instead of standard sleeves we made the sleeves a bell style for some extra fun and flare. For closures we used faux silver concho buttons. Serapes are hand woven and this one is made with wool. If you have skin sensitivity to wool or fabrics considered to be itchy, do not purchase this piece. In our opinion, the jacket is very thin, very lightweight, and has a nice drape. Please note, there is a zig zag mend on the back which we have photographed for your convenience. If you have further questions please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
