This is an Antique American quilt made circa 1920s-1940s. This is a hand embroidered Blue Work Quilt. It is important to note that Blue Work pieces that have survived the test of time are exceedingly rare and this is a unicorn! Hand embroidered quilts similar to this became popular among young girls and housewives, however most of these quilts were done with red embroidery thread, called Red Work. This is a complete work of art for its skillful hand embroidery, its meticulous and museum quality hand quilting, and for the depth of images exhibited. In our opinion the quilt is very thin, very soft, very light weight, and with a great drape. This is absolute wearable Folk Art.
