This is an antique American quilt made circa 1890 to 1920s. It is a traditional Fan quilt pattern. This quilt did not come from a humble home. The quilt has been hand sewn and beautifully hand quilted. We love the contrasting black and white backing fabric, inside of jacket, which can best be appreciated when the cuffs are rolled. We used Buffalo nickels as closures. This piece contains rare antique indigo fabrics. In our opinion, the jacket is soft, thin, lightweight has a little loft (puffiness), and has a nice drape. Please note, there is sun bleaching throughout, which does not effect the integrity of the fabric. We have attempted to include a photo of the bleaching, it is very subtle. There are some stains on the inside of the jacket that we have captured in the photographs. This is a size Medium, please read size measurements below. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
