This quilt coat is made using an antique American quilt made circa 1930s to 1950s. It is a traditional and very rare Wheel of Mystery or Winding Ways quilt pattern. The quilt has been hand quilted and hand sewn which is a labor of love and a lost art. We love the variation of color, ombre, in the blue fabric this is due to sun bleaching. The quilt would have hung outside after washing over the years. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, lightweight, and has a beautiful drape. We used pink heart buttons as closures. To add interest we used a vintage Levi Trucker jacket for the collar and sleeves. Please note, there are age marks that are visible on the inside that do not show through to the outside. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
