This quilt coat is made from a very rare chenille bedspread. It was made circa 1960s to 1980s. To make the chenille into a quilt we backed it with contrasting blue star and blue polka dot striped fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves! We were able to preserve and place the rainbow border on the sleeves and collar. For closures we used clear faceted glass buttons. In our opinion, the jacket is very thin, has a little weight, but has no loft or puffiness. This piece is super drapey and most of all super fun. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
