This is an antique American quilt made circa 1890s to 1920s. It is a traditional Trip Around the World quilt pattern. This is a quintessential Lancaster County Mennonite Quilt. The quilt has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn, which is a labor of love and a lost art. The back of the quilt, inside of the jacket, is a beautiful striped quilt. For added interest we used a vintage Vietnam Camo Army jacket for the sleeves and collar. The buttons are antique European park ranger and police buttons. Every button is different, they were taken from a variety of antique uniforms. In our opinion, the jacket is thin, lightweight, a dream to wear, and so flattering. Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
