This is an antique American Amish quilt made circa 1890. This beautiful piece is from Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. It is a traditional Postage Stamp quilt pattern with an elevated border. This quilt has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn. It is very rare and highly collectible. We love that the maker used a contrasting orange tone fabric for the border. In our opinion, the jacket is very thin, very lightweight, and has a beautiful and flattering drape. This piece does contain some wool fabrics, if you have a sensitivity to wool, please do not consider purchasing this piece. We used small gold buttons as closures and over the gold buttons we have placed vintage beaded southwest button covers. When we purchased the quilt we were give a little piece of cloth with some quilt history, we have saved the provenance and captured it in photographs. Please note, there are a handful of zig zag mends throughout that blend into the quilt. We believe this jacket looks great with a fur, we have photo a combo that we like. If you would like to see fur options, please reach out after purchasing! If you have further questions please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that most of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some fabrics can be older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
