This is an American antique quilt made circa 1960s to 1970s. This was made with a Paragon quilt kit that was featured on the cover of Good Housekeeping in the 60's. It was made to celebrate Americana. As a result, it became wildly popular. We are obsessed with the Folk Art Motifs, specifically the bell at the back of the neck The detail in this applique is stunning, the tiny stars on the eagles shield to the tiny eagle claws. This piece is beautifully hand quilted and hand appliqued. The maker used extremely soft luxe cotton. It is thin, lightweight, has a little loft(puffiness). It is very comfortable to wear and has an excellent drape. We used bronze metal Greco Roman buttons as closures. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. The quilt is in excellent condition.
