This is an American antique quilt top made circa 1880's-1900. This piece came from a Lancaster county estate sale. It is a traditional Hexi quilt pattern. The maker was an absolute master and this piece is museum worthy for its construction. The top is beautifully hand sewn. The Hexi pieces are very small and what is considered fussy cut, meaning very precise and perfect execution. To bring this quilt top back to life our good friend Zoe Dawn quilted this piece with reproduction fabric from the same era. We added antique oblong carved wood buttons as closures. In our opinion this quilt is thin, very lightweight, and has an excellent drape. We have shown a few images of this duster with one of our fur collars. The collar is not included with this jacket, we did this to give you a visual of how a fur would look on this piece. If you have been looking for a quilt to add a fur collar to, this is an excellent choice. If you have further questions please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.
