This is an Antique American quilt. This quilt patter was designed by influencer and quilt designer of the early 1900's, Marie Webster. This specific applique quilt pattern is known as French Baskets. Marie was the first person to write a history of quilts. She was also an astute business women. her floral applique designs were created at the height of the Arts & Crafts movement. This specific quilt is a hand work show off. The hand quilting is museum worthy! In our opinion this piece is soft, thin, light weight, and has an excellent drape.
