This is an antique Mexican Saltillo or souvenir blanket. This Saltillo is hand woven with fine wool. These blankets originated from northern Mexico. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries they were very flamboyant for their time. These blankets were made for rancheros / horsemen. In our opinion it is very thin, very light weight, and has an extremely flattering drape. There are two large front pockets. For a closure we added a silver and red Concho button. Please Note: The jacket contains wool and may cause skin sensitivity. It also may smell like wool, if you are sensitive to smells, this may not be a good jacket for you. If you have further questions please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.
