This is an American antique crazy quilt made circa 1880s to 1910. It is a traditional Hit and Miss quilt pattern. The quilt has been hand sewn and beautifully hand embroidered with a an array of colors. This piece was made by a hand skills master who had an eye for taking the ordinary to the next level. The quilt contains many men's suit scraps. Please take note of the backing fabric, inside of jacket, it is a beautiful contrasting silk sateen. In our opinion, the quilt is very thin and lightweight. We used black glass retired Chanel buttons that Lady Lancaster found at a Paris brocante. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. The quilt is in excellent condition for its age!
