This is an American vintage quilt, made circa 1970s. This is an abstract applique and scrappy quilt, we have never seen anything like this beast before! We would give a lot to meet this maker because they had to have been a fun person and we love fun! The quilt contains abstract and obtuse shapes, zigzag machine stitches used as art and applique, and hand knotting. This is Andy Warhol meets Lily Pulitzer at her orange juice stand. In our opinion the quilt is very lofty, in other words it has thick poly batting and makes you feel like you're wearing a cloud. Despite the loft it is not heavy and has a great drape. The Blankie style is our most oversized one size fits most jacket. If you are tiny or petite please understand this is a very large oversized jacket. Lady Lancaster, who is modeling this jacket is a US size 0-4 and 5'4" in height for perspective. This piece legitimately fits a US size 0-16 comfortably. Lady Lancaster designed this style to be a literal Blankie with arms. Perfect layering piece for after the beach or pool or a pre ski and campfire.
- This jacket has clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- This features two very deep, generous pockets.
- One Size Fits Most
Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
