This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890’s-1920’s. This quilt pattern has been referred to as a Texas Star, Friendship Hexagon, Dolly Madison's Star and Star Garden. This piece is hand quilted and hand sewn. It contains many men’s shirt scraps from its era. In our opinion the quilt is very lightweight and has a flattering and floppy drape. The jacket is very comfortable to wear. In our opinion the quilt has medium loft(puffiness). The maker backed this quilt(inside of jacket) with a cotton muslin fabric. There is some sun bleaching throughout. We have included a photo at the end of the listing for your convenience. Please Note: there is at least one zig zag mend, we have include a photo. - The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
