The Aunt Ethel

This is an American Vintage quilt made circa 1950's to 1970's. The quilt pattern has gone by many names over the years such as Nonesuch, Love Ring, The Jig Saw Puzzle, and the Ozark Puzzle. This piece is hand quilted. In our opinion the quilt feels like it is backed with a cotton flannel. It is very thin, soft, and has little to no batting. Please note, depending on the lighting, this quilt can read like it has color bleed, it is so subtle that we are unable to capture this in our images. Please watch the video in the listing, you may be able to see a very light pink undertone. The maker used pink batting that may show through in some places. It is priced accordingly. There are small zig zag mends throughout and the cotton flannel is pilling. We have added an iphone photo of this at the end of the listing. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
