The Aunt Ethel

This is a Vintage American quilt made circa 1960's-1970's. It is a large scale traditional Churn Dash quilt pattern. It is hand quilted and made with poly and cotton blend fabrics which is quite typical for its era. This jacket is an absolute show stopper. The backing fabric is next level and brings so much depth and interest to the overall quilt. This can best be appreciated when the sleeves are cuffed or the jacket is worn upside down. If you enjoy styling your Ethel upside down, this an excellent Ethel for you.  It is for the Maximalist! In our opinion, this quilt is extremely comfortable to wear. It is thin, soft, and light weight, however, it does have loft (puffiness). This jacket comes with a side of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". This quilt is in great condition. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
