The Aunt Ethel

This is an American antique quilt made circa 1920's-1940's, possibly even earlier.  It is an elevated Lone Star Quilt Pattern with large satellites for added interest. We have shown off these extra satellite stars on the sleeves. This piece is exceptional for its crisp points, beautiful hand quilting, and meticulous hand sewing. There is some sun bleaching of the fabrics throughout the jacket . We have captured this in our photos below. There is a zig zag mend and subtle tanning throughout, so subtle we were unable to capture in our photos. We have captured the mend and you can find an image in the photos below.  In our opinion the quilt is thin, soft, lightweight, and has a fabulous drape. There is very slight color bleed from the cheddar diamonds that shows on the inside of the jacket, not the outside. We have also included a photo of this in the listing. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
• One Size Fits Most - Model is 5’4 and approximately 125lbs

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
